Marvin Gaye Gets It On With The National Anthem

I’ve been reading a lot about how awful Kat Deluna (who?)’s national anthem performance was prior to the Eagles/Cowboys MNF game this Monday.  Is she really a ”pop sensation”?  You can almost hear the announcer laugh as he says it.  I listened to it and it absolutely raped my ears. I won’t post it here directly and subject you to the same audio abortion I just heard.  Instead, I’d like to take a moment and revisit one of the most baller national anthem performances ever done.  This is, of course, Marvin Gaye at the 1983 NBA All-Star Game.

You can just see the joint smoke and astroglide flying throughout the crowd.  Only Marvin can make something as trivial of a song as the national anthem into baby-making music.
