Stars…They're Just Like Us!

by Endswell 3 years, 7 months ago View Comments

I guess this came out a couple days ago…Charlize Theron was doing an interview for her new movie.  During the course of the interview, she was asked by MTV about the Hills… via MTV:

“Theron: [Long pause, laughs.] So I watched a couple episodes. I was doing a world tour at the time, so I watched them in a couple languages. I realized that this f—ing show is huge. Now I’m going to ask you a question: Why?

MTV: Why what?

Theron: Why is it so big? It’s about nothing! This is a free country. Freedom of speech! You can tell me right now to my face that “Reindeer Games” was a piece of sh–. That’s totally fine. But “The Hills” is about nothing. I think the girls are beautiful and when they cry their mascara runs and that’s real, but I don’t get it!”

Not only is she gorgeous and a bonafide talented actress, she doesn’t like The Hills.  I can’t talk enough about how that show is the anti-christ of good television.  The only episode that I would ever enjoy is the one where “The Hills” becomes the burial location of the assholes on that show.

Puma First Round Sketch

by Endswell 3 years, 7 months ago View Comments

I can dig it.

Via HighSnobiety:

“This Fall the Puma First Round comes in an interesting new look. Entitled First Round Sketch, the high top sneaker comes in overall four colorways, all imitating as if the sneaker was customized by hand. The silhouette of the sneaker has been re-drawn upon and the Puma logo stripe also comes as a print, as well as the Puma logo tag on the tongue. That coupled with fatlaces certainly makes for an interesting look. Pics via Kenlu.”

Roadsworth: Literal Street Art

by Endswell 3 years, 7 months ago View Comments

Banksy-ish mischief artist Roadsworth popped up on my radar today.  From his website:

“Roadsworth began painting the streets of Montreal in the fall of 2001. Initially motivated by a desire for more bike paths in the city and a questioning of “car culture” in general, he continued to develop a language around street markings and other elements of the urban landscape using a primarily stencil based technique. In the fall of 2004, Roadsworth was arrested for his nocturnal activities and charged with 53 counts of mischief. Despite the threat of heavy fines and a criminal record he received a relatively lenient sentence which he attributes in part to the public support he received subsequent to his arrest. Since that time, Roadsworth has received various commissions for his work and continues to be active in both visual art and music.”

Michael Douglas Asked About Wall Street Crisis…Informs Reporter That Gordon Gekko Isn't His Actual Name

by Endswell 3 years, 7 months ago View Comments

Michael Douglas, who won an Oscar for playing fictional Wall Street wizard Gordon Gekko, took questions on Wednesday about the financial woes going down on Wall Street.  He was there to urge the US and eight other countries to ratify a nuclear test ban treaty.  Yahoo reports:

“After world leaders here condemned the “boundless greed” of world markets, Douglas was asked to compare nuclear Armageddon with the “financial Armageddon on Wall Street.”

But the likening to Gekko did not end there, with a reporter asking: “Are you saying Gordon that greed is not good?”

“I’m not saying that,” Douglas replied. “And my name is not Gordon. He’s a character I played 20 years ago.”

This fucking idiot reporter is referring to people by fictional characters… in front of world leaders… at a UN covention about nuclear testing.  What the hell is wrong with this slow individual?  He probably refers to Morgan Freeman and 8 other actors that have played the role as “Mr. President”, much like I do with my penis.

Oh Man… Google… Too Awesome…

by Endswell 3 years, 7 months ago View Comments

It’s Google’s birthday 10th Birthday… but they’re giving US gifts…Project 10^100 (“Project 10 to the 100th”)

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgSRwOZtDQ8]

Instead of bitching and moaning about the inevitable collapse of Wall Street and how they didn’t do it, the fact they might not get their CEO payouts, griping and pointing fingers at whose fault it is (like a 10 year old would), GOOGLE decided(yes, its a noun still), “fuck this…we’re going our own way.”  A simple contest, have the best idea to change the world, you get money to do it with.  So basically, they’re sponsoring life improvements.  They’re single handedly buying us out of these shitty times.  Here’s how it works, via…Google:

1. Send us your idea by October 20th.
Simply fill out the submission form giving us the gist of your idea. You can supplement your proposal with a 30-second video.

2. Voting on ideas begins on January 27th.
We’ll post a selection of one hundred ideas and ask you, the public, to choose twenty semi-finalists. Then an advisory board will select up to five final ideas. Send me a reminder to vote.

3. We’ll help bring these ideas to life.
We’re committing $10 million to implement these projects, and our goal is to help as many people as possible. So remember, money may provide a jumpstart, but the idea is the thing.

Good luck, and may those who help the most win.

In the movies, this is when the awesome company that everyone loves reveals itself as an evil corporation bent on world domination.  If they keep this up I’ll probably still hang out.
