Give me your tired, your poor, any metal in your pockets, your consent to a full-body scan, etc.

I don’t understand this… They should just let anyone and everyone right through without checking anything? And then when something goes wrong we’ll all complain about that instead? I don’t get it.
the problem comes in when TSA says they NEVER save the scanned images and then we find out that’s BS – maybe they’re not “supposed to,” but they do, and then how do those images get used/get out??? Are you comfy with having your naked ass in a government database somewhere? And when they break protocol and search INSIDE your underwear…???? (read some of the news stories!) TSA agents are “human” too, so many screw up and are crooked and have god complexes. They abuse their power all the time at our – PAYING TRAVELERS’ – expense. have you seen the little 7 year old boy getting stripped down and searched in front of an entire audience?? would you subject your child to that? it’s an unnecessary and ineffective invasion.
It would be one thing if these measures were actually preventing attacks. But we don’t have any evidence that any security measures the TSA has implemented have *ever* prevented a single attack.
In truth, if you look at the history of terrorism since 2001, it’s been pretty incompetent. The 9/11 attacks themselves would’ve failed, except that until then the standard script in a hijacking was to keep your head down and not draw attention to yourself. Those attacks banished that behavior forever. Since then, what have we had? A shoe bomber who failed and an underwear bomber who failed. If we take an honest look, the terrorists from 9/11 on have been astonishingly incompetent…as incompetent, in fact, as the TSA whom we allow to invade our privacy and dignity for absolutely no reason.
