This could be your hotel room.
A submission by Anders Berensson and Ulf Mejergren for the A Room For London competition, which challenges participants to design a temporary hotel room that will “sit on top of the Queen Elizabeth Hall roof at the Southbank Centre in London and will allow up to two guests at a time a chance to spend a unique night in an exemplary work of art and architecture overlooking the British capital.”
VisionDivision’s design calls for minimal furniture (only a bed, a free-standing shower, and toilet). The focus of the room is the sea of clouds that the guests stay on, which can be controlled in terms of quality and color by a remote control that is given upon check-in. Since the walls are nonexistent, an illusion is created of sleeping amongst the clouds over the city. This is reinforced by the nest of tame falcons above the bed, which guests can feed with meat that they are also given upon check-in.
