An Update On The Rebel Siege Of Tripoli[The Atlantic Wire]

The Libyan rebels are continuing their rapid advance into the heart of Tripoli, as Muammar Qaddafistations tanks near his Bab Azaziya compound in a defiant last stand. Al-Jazeera is reporting that central Tripoli is still very dangerous because of “pockets of pro-Qaddafi resistance and the presence of snipers and artillery fire,” with loyalists still controlling about 20 percent of the city. But the rebels are increasingly taking control of state institutions, including, most recently, Libyan state television, which was still carryingpro-Qaddafi programs on Monday. BBC reporter Rupert Wingfield-Hayes captured the intense fighting still raging in the capital when the convoy of rebels he was accompanying was ambushed by pro-Qaddafi forces this morning.

The Irish Teen Who Tracks And Kills Gaddafi’s Snipers

by Endswell 5 months, 9 days ago View Comments

From Mail & Guardian:

With his flipped-round baseball cap and “Just Do It” T-shirt, Tareg Gazel looks like any other 19-year-old. But this teen’s job is to use cunning and guile to find and kill Muammar Gaddafi regime snipers.

His mother is from Belfast, his father is Libyan and, as if drawn from the script of a Hollywood movie, he is now using what he learnt hunting game in the desert to liberate Zawiyah, his city that lies almost at the gates of Tripoli.

The latest from Freddie Wong:

After meeting Codemasters at E3 and demoing their new game, BodyCount, they asked us if we would like to make a video around the game! We told them that we would love to since we really enjoyed the game and they gave us access to their massive custom sound effects library.
